Frequently asked questions

What is the best forex trading platform?

It depends on how you trade. MetaTrader 4 and 5 are the most widely supported and best for expert advisors, cTrader suits manual traders who want depth of market, and TradingView is the strongest for charting. Pepperstone, IC Markets and FP Markets offer all of them; IG, Saxo and CMC Markets have the best in-house platforms.

Is MT4 or MT5 better for forex?

MT5 is newer and faster, with more timeframes, an economic calendar and more order types, but MT4 still has the largest library of expert advisors and indicators. Most brokers on this page offer both.

Which forex trading platform is best for beginners?

A simple broker-built platform such as the IG, eToro or Plus500 app is easier to learn than MetaTrader. Practise on a demo account first.

Can I use TradingView to trade forex?

Yes, if your broker is integrated with TradingView. Pepperstone, IC Markets, FOREX.com, OANDA, Saxo, CMC Markets and tastyfx are among the brokers that support trading from TradingView charts.

Risk warning: CFDs and leveraged forex are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly. Between roughly 60% and 89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs, depending on the provider. Consider whether you understand how they work and can afford to lose your money. Read the full risk warning.
